CoolSculpting® is like a non-surgical lipo (liposuction) and it is positioned as a revolution in cold-based liporreduction.Its creators, the renowned scientists at Harvard University, Drs. Dieter Manstein and R.Rox Anderson, developed this technology based on the cooling process after observing the dimpling in some children as a result of eating ice cream. They showed that, with this cold-based technology, it is possible to eliminate localized fat from those more problematic areas. The fat cells come to freezing and crystallize at a higher temperature than the rest of the cells, so applying a controlled and sustained cold in a precise way and for a specific period of time makes the gradual reduction and results in the cell death. Of fat, through a process called “induced apoptosis”. After treatment with CoolSculpting®, the fat cells enter an apoptotic death sequence and the body gradually eliminates them as part of the phagocytosis process.
