To improve the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels that her breast size is too small.

About Breasty Augmentation

Breast augmentation, commonly known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the size and shape of a woman’s breast for many reasons:
To improve the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels that her breast size is too small. To correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy. To balance a difference in the size of the breasts. Or as a reconstruction of the technique that follows breast surgery for cancer.
By simply inserting an implant behind each breast, our surgeons are able to increase a woman’s bust size by one or more bra cup sizes. If you consider breast augmentation, talk to our medical specialists who will provide you with a basic understanding of the procedure, and can help you understand how it is done and what result you can expect. The members of our medical team can answer all your questions, since it depends on your individual circumstances.
Breast augmentation can improve your appearance and self-confidence, but it will not necessarily change your appearance to match your ideal, or cause people to treat you differently. Before you decide to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with your surgeon.

MOMMY MAKEOVER IN LONDON

The so-called Mommy Makeover is a unique procedure in the sense that they are actually a personalized combination of several cosmetic treatments in one. It is emerging as a fashion promoted by great international artists who have just become mothers and want to recover the perfection of their body after giving birth. Actually, Mommy Makeover is a set of interventions of plastic surgery, – three, to be exact – whose purpose is to recover the shape and smoothness of the breasts, a completely flat abdomen and eliminate excess fat, especially in the thighs and abdomen.

Many women would like to have a breast augmentation, but not all are good candidates for this procedure. The best candidates for breast augmentation are women who seek improvement, not perfection. If you are physically healthy, psychologically strong and realistic in your expectations, you can be a good candidate. Breast augmentation is commonly done to balance a difference in breast size, such as improving the contour of the body, or as a reconstruction of the technique that followed repair surgery.

There are three types of implants used for breast augmentation:

1. Implants with saline:

The breast implants filled with saline are filled with sterile salt water. They can be pre-filled in a predetermined size or filled at the time of surgery to allow minor modifications in implant size.

2. Implants with silicone gel:

Silicone gel-filled breast implants are filled with soft, elastic gel and are available in a variety of forms. All silicone gel breast implants are pre-filled and may require a longer incision for implant placement.

3. Cohesive silicone gel breast implants:

Cohesive silicone gel breast implants, also known as implants “gummy bear shape” or “stable”, are filled with a cohesive gel, made of reticulated silicone molecules, which makes them a little thicker and firmer than traditional silicone gel implants. This allows them to maintain their shape more optimally. Our board certified plastic surgeons use all three implants and will help you decide which option is right for you. They can also combine any of these breast augmentation options with a breast lift if your case requires it.

Our surgeons employ the most advanced techniques for your breast augmentation surgery. They use the No touch technique which means that the surgery is performed using a surgical tool called Keller Funnel, developed by the Allergan laboratories. The Keller Funnel has a funnel shape that helps the plastic surgeon to introduce the silicone implant in the breast, avoiding any contact of the implant with environmental agents or with the skin of the patient. This technique prevents or diminishes the possible bacterial infections that can occur during an augmentation mammoplasty operation and that can lead to an encapsulation of the breast prosthesis.

ALL SURGERIES CARRY SOME UNCERTAINTIES AND RISK

Breast augmentation is relatively straightforward. But as with any operation, there are risks associated with the surgery and the specific complications associated with this procedure. The most common problem is capsular contracture. It occurs if the scar or capsule around the implant begins to tighten. This squeezes the soft implant and can cause the appearance of a hard breast. Capsular contracture can be treated in several ways, medically; Sometimes it requires the removal of scar tissue around the implant, or perhaps removal or replacement of the implant. As with any surgical procedure, excess blood following the operation can cause some swelling and pain. If the excess bleeding continues, another operation may be needed to control the hematoma and remove the accumulated blood.
A small percentage of women develop an infection around the implant. This can happen at any time, but most cases occurred within a week after surgery. In some cases, the implant may need to be removed for several months until the infection stops. A new implant can then be placed. Some women report that their nipples become supersensitive, insensitive or even numb. You may also notice small patches of numbness near your incisions. These symptoms commonly disappear within a time, but may be permanent in some patients. Occasionally, breast implants may rupture or leak. The breakage can occur as a result of damage or movement and normal compression of your breast on the implant, causing an escape in the artificial cover. If a saline implant ruptures, the implant will deflate in a few hours and the saline will be absorbed by the body.
If the break occurs in an implant filled with gel, two things can happen. If the cover breaks, but the scar capsule around the implant does not, you cannot detect any change. If the scar also breaks or tears occur, especially following extreme pressure, the silicone gel can move around the tissue. The gel can stay in the breast and cause a new scar around, or it can migrate to another area of the body. There may be a change in the shape or consistency of the breast. Both types of breaks may require a second operation and replacement of the implant. In some cases, it is not possible to remove all the silicone gel in the breast tissue if a break occurs. While most women do not experience these complications, you should discuss each one with your doctor to ensure you understand the risks and consequences of breast augmentation.

The surgery lasts between 1 and 2 hours and is performed in our surgical suite under general anesthesia with intravenous sedation (twilight sleep). The intervention begins with a small incision. The incision can be made in the fold where the breast meets the chest, around the areola (the dark skin that surrounds the nipple), or in the armpit. Efforts will be made to ensure that the incision is put in place where the scars will be as inconspicuous as possible.
Working through the incision obtained, the surgeon will lift your skin and breast tissue to create a pocket, or directly behind the breast tissue or under your chest muscle. The implants are then centered under your nipples.
In the submuscular position, two drainage tubes can be used for several days after surgery. Placement in this position may interfere less with breast examination with mammography than if the implant is placed directly behind the breast tissue. Placement behind the muscle, however, may be more painful for a few days after surgery than placement directly under the breast tissue. The breast implant can be inserted directly under the breast tissue or under the muscular wall of the breast. You will want to discuss the pros and cons of these alternatives with your doctor before surgery to make sure that you fully understand the implications of the procedure he recommends for you.
Surgery usually takes one to two hours to complete. Dissolvable stitches are used to close the incisions, which may also be taped for greater support. A compressive gauze bandage is applied over your breasts to help healing. A surgical bra and sometimes a “Band-O” breast strap will be provided for you. After surgery, the breasts appear fuller and more natural and contoured. The scars will fade over time.

After your surgery, you are likely to feel tired and sore for a few days after your surgery, but you will be improved around 24 to 48 hours. Most of your discomfort can be controlled with the medication prescribed by your doctor.
Within several days, our staff will remove the bandage, and we will exchange it for a surgical bra. You must wear it as prescribed by your surgeon. You may also experience a burning sensation in your nipples for about two weeks, but this will go down when the bruise is healed.

In your initial consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your health and explain what surgical techniques are appropriate for you, based on the condition of your breasts and skin tone. If your breasts are sagging, your doctor may also recommend a breast lift.
Be clear to discuss your expectations frankly with your surgeon. He should also be frank with you, describing his alternatives and the risks and limitations of each type of surgery. You may want to ask your surgeon for a copy of the manufacturer’s documentation that comes with the implant he will use. And, be honest to tell your surgeon if you smoke, if you take any medication, vitamins, or other drugs.
Your surgeon will also explain the type of anesthesia he will use, the type of surgical technique, and the costs involved. Because most insurance companies do not consider medically necessary breast augmentation and do not cover it.

You should be able to return to work within a few days, depending on the level of activity required for your job. Follow your surgeon’s advice on when to start your normal exercises and activities. Your breasts will probably be sensitive to direct stimulation for two or three weeks, so you should avoid excessive physical contact. It indicates no contact with your breasts, commonly three to four weeks after surgery, because during this time they are healing.
Your scars will remain pink for at least six months. After several months, they will begin to disguise themselves, although they never completely disappear. To make them fade, it is recommended that you massage the healed incision with vitamin E.

  • For many women, the result of breast augmentation can be satisfactory and they learn to appreciate its fuller and more turgid aspect. Regular examination of your plastic surgeon and routine mammograms in the appropriate age groups at prescribed intervals will help to ensure the absence of any complications, if they occurred, they can be detected early and treated. Your decision to get breast augmentation is so personal that not everyone will understand. The most important thing is how you feel about it. If you have achieved your goals, then your surgery is a success.
