Patient Journey at London Harley Street Clinics

At London Harley Street Clinics, we understand that seeking medical treatment, whether surgical or non-surgical, can feel daunting. Our goal is to make your journey as smooth, transparent, and comfortable as possible. From your first consultation to your post-treatment recovery, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

1. Booking the Appointment

Your journey begins with a simple and convenient booking process. Patients can schedule their appointment online, via phone, or through our clinic reception.

2. Initial Virtual Consultation

Once the appointment is confirmed, a Pabau meeting link will be shared with the patient. This initial consultation provides an opportunity to discuss concerns, expectations, and treatment options with our experienced specialists. During this one-on-one session:

  • We listen to your concerns and discuss your goals.
  • Your surgeon will explain the recommended treatment options, including risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any uncertainties.

For patients undergoing surgical procedures, a 15-day preparation period is required. This ensures adequate time for necessary pre-surgical instructions, lifestyle adjustments, and medical clearance if needed.

2. Second Face to Face Consultation

After the preparation period, the patient will visit the clinic for a face-to-face consultation with the doctor. This session will finalize the treatment plan, address any remaining concerns, and confirm all details related to the procedure. This second consultation provides additional time to:

  • Confirm your decision and ensure you feel confident about the procedure.
  • Address any lingering questions or concerns.
  • Review any additional details about the procedure or recovery process.

3. Pre-Assessment

Once you’ve decided to proceed, you may require a pre-assessment to confirm you’re medically prepared for the procedure. This process includes:
  • A review of your medical history and current health status.
  • Any necessary medical tests or checks.
  • Guidance on preparing for your treatment, such as dietary restrictions, medication adjustments, or lifestyle recommendations.

Let us know if you have specific requirements, such as mobility assistance or communication preferences, so we can tailor your care accordingly.

What does pre-assessment involve?

During your assessment, we will review your medical history and conduct the necessary tests to ensure you are prepared for your procedure. Routine tests may include blood tests, an ECG, or a chest X-ray. Depending on your health status and the specific procedure, additional tests such as infection control swabs or blood pressure measurements may also be required.

If all results fall within the normal range, we will confirm your operation date. In some cases, additional investigations may be needed, which could lead to a slight delay. Should this occur, our team will keep you fully informed and guide you through the next steps to ensure your safety and successful treatment.

4. Treatment Confirmation

Before your procedure, we’ll provide you with a detailed treatment letter. This will include:

  • The date and time of your appointment.
  • Specific instructions, such as fasting requirements or items to bring.
  • Relevant forms to complete and return, such as medical questionnaires.
  • Patient information leaflets to help you prepare.

To ensure a seamless admission process at London Harley Street Clinics, please complete and return the registration form and medical questionnaire provided as promptly as possible. If you are unable to send these documents ahead of time, kindly bring them with you on the day of your admission.

Carefully review all your documentation, including the date and time of your admission. In cases where the operating schedule is not finalized, you may be asked to call the clinic the working day prior to your admission to confirm your arrival time and any pre-procedure instructions, such as fasting requirements.

If you are planning to claim your procedure through an insurance company, it is your responsibility to contact them well in advance to ensure you have adequate coverage. If you are issued a pre-authorisation number, please bring it with you on the day of your admission. Our team will assist you in making the process as smooth as possible.
